Led by world-renowned experts in positive psychology, we create articles, podcast episodes, online courses, and practical toolkits to help everyone live a happier, more meaningful life.
Our Center helps people build social connections across groups, offering practical strategies for overcoming bias and prejudice, expanding one’s circle of care, and promoting diversity, inclusion, and belonging. We welcome a diversity of experiences and perspectives and strive to operate by the values that drive our programs: empathy, compassion, appreciation, and cooperation.

This position is responsible for analyzing, strategizing, and executing key areas of our multifaceted fundraising program. Working closely with the GGSC’s Development Director, the Assistant Director will be part of a team of two full-time staff plus additional part-time support from student assistants as needed. They’ll collaborate with marketing, events, program staff, and UC Berkeley’s development office.

• Developing strategies to expand donor base and cultivate mid-level donors.
• Coordinating donor engagement activities, including events.
• Collaborating with marketing and program staff to integrate fundraising appeals into
GGSC media.
• Overseeing database systems, reporting, and portfolio development.
• Coordinating grants and outreach.
• Providing administrative support and supervising student assistants.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, communications,
psychology/social sciences, or business.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit development or related field.
• Proficiency in donor databases (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge) and Microsoft Office/G
Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Comfort working independently and collaboratively.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
• Passion for GGSC's mission, values, and interest in well-being and social change.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience leading successful annual fund programs.
• Familiarity with CADS (UC Berkeley’s donor database) and using metrics for pipeline
development.
• Exceptional writing skills, including journalism or content creation.

Salary & Benefits:
This position offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience.
