Position reports to:  Executive Director

Position salary range:  65,000-70,000

POSITION: Director of Development– Salary Exempt

ACCESS Shelter is looking for an experienced fundraising professional to be responsible for fund development and implementation, public relations, and management of direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor's degree in communications, business, marketing or related field.
•Excellent writing skills,
•Minimum of 2 years of successful experience in grant writing.
•Major gifts experience.
•Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and database applications.
•Excellent communication skills, outgoing “people person,” dynamic self-starter, highly organized.
•Ability to work well both as a team member and individually.
•Some graphic design experience.
•Successful planning and execution of fundraising events.
•Demonstrated flexibility, motivation, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude. Experienced in managing, motivating, and coordinating people.
•Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
•Valid Ohio driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
•Develop and implement a comprehensive fund-raising plan utilizing foundations, corporations, individuals and other sources for yearly operating budget, major gifts and annual appeal and fundraising events.
•Write all grants and funding requests to all sources, public and private, within designated deadlines.
•Identify and cultivate new sources of revenue (government, private, corporate, and individual).
•Assist with planning and implementation of the annual fundraisers and various fundraising campaigns.
•Prepare monthly development reports for the Board; assist Executive Director with revenue goals during budget preparation.
•Create a comprehensive marketing/PR plan for the agency.
•Responsible for brand oversight and ensuring the brand is kept consistent throughout all materials, publications, letterhead, website, etc.
•Coordinate, implement and participate in speaking engagements to groups, churches and community organizations as requested by Executive Director.
•Responsible for oversight of the development, processing and delivery of printed newsletters, press releases, annual fundraising campaign, e-newsletters, press kits, general agency marketing materials and website.
•Responsible for oversight of social media.
Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Compensation: $65,000-70,000/year salary with additional bonus incentives

•Flexible schedule.
•Being part of the senior staff requires being on call for 1 week per month average for the shelter.
