About the Organization

The New Orleans African American Museumof Art, Culture and History (NOAAM) isdedicated to the preservation,presentation and interpretation of theAfrican and African American culture andheritage of New Orleans and the AfricanDiaspora. Signature events, exhibitions,and programs keep the historic campus inthe Tremé bustling with culture bearers,artists, and thought leaders.The Current Landscape: While NOAAM hasexisted for 28 years, these past five yearshave been a complete revival of theorganization. Exhibitions, events, and thepartial restoration of the historic campushave been led by the visionary ExecutiveDirector along with a core leadership team.This Fund Development Manager will be anew addition to the core leadership team,charged with co-designing and executingan annual fund plan and establishingstrong systems in advance of a capitalcampaign.


The Fund Development Manager is a keymember of the NOAAM leadership teamresponsible for co-building an annual fundplan and executing all activities tied to thatannual fund. This includes managing thegrants calendar and writing all grants,developing a process for donor cultivation,managing sponsorships, overseeing theplanning of all fundraising events, anddeveloping systems to maximizefundraising capacity. NOAAM is activelybuilding and implementing a “decolonizethe museum” model.
