Job Description

Michigan State University (MSU) is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and experienced fundraising professional to join our University Advancement team as the Associate Director of Development, Parent Philanthropy. This is an exciting opportunity to build and enhance a comprehensive parent and family philanthropy program, fostering strong relationships with MSU families and encouraging their support of the university.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of 75 parent and family prospects, focusing on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts.
• Collaborate with University Advancement colleagues to develop and implement strategies for parent philanthropy.
• Organize campus visits, meetings, and events to engage parents and families.
• Maintain and grow the Parent and Family Ambassador Council, fostering meaningful involvement and support.
• Partner with MSU's Annual Giving team to implement mass-solicitation strategies.
• Utilize data analytics to identify and engage potential parent donors.

What We Are Looking For:

• 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, public relations, or marketing, preferably in higher education.
• Proven track record in securing major gifts or business deals of $50,000 or more.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of tax laws related to charitable giving is a plus.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
