Job Description

Position salary range:  Competitive Salary

Position reports to:  Associate Director of Advancement

 Responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting gifts of $100,000 or more from alumni, parents, and friends which involve effective prospect and donor relationship management, including qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.



Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage a portfolio of 125-175 with an emphasis on capacity to make multi-year gift commitments of $100,000 and above.
Develop and implement comprehensive solicitation and stewardship strategies for donors and prospects.
Devise and implement donor-centric fundraising strategies to meet personal activity and revenue goals through portfolio planning and moves management.
Collaborate with colleagues including the Head of School, Board of Trustees, volunteers, advancement staff, and faculty to advance prospect conversations.
Travel regularly within assigned region to meet with individuals and achieve annual fundraising targets, conducting 12-15 visits per month with a focus on pipeline development and gift closure.
Track and manage relationships, contact history, and donor engagement activities using CRM or donor management software.
Must adhere to all School policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook
Continually meet or exceed Pomfret School’s Standards of Behavior, Character, and Engagement
Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements

Proven track record of qualifying, soliciting and closing gifts of five figures or more
Fundraising experience, ideally in a major gift capacity
Ability to have comprehensive conversations with donors and prospective donors to help meet annual, capital, and planned giving goals
Direct solicitation experience with an understanding of and appreciation for the philanthropic process
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences effectively
Ability to travel regularly throughout the United States to meet donors and prospective donors. Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed
Experience with fundraising within a campaign environment preferred.
Familiarity with working within a database, knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is a plus

Bachelor’s degree or higher
